Angel Chantel (Kingston, TN) is an east Tennessee bluegrass musician and educator. Bass is her main instrument but she also plays guitar and mandolin. She was fortunate enough to grow up in the Smoky Mountain region, surrounded by the music and traditions of the Appalachian Mountains. She is a graduate of East Tennessee State University’s Bluegrass, Country & Roots Music program, with a minor in Appalachian Studies. Angel is an international bluegrass educator, teaching part of the year in Kathmandu, Nepal with the Bluegrass Journeymen Academy. She also performs throughout the Southeast with her band Angel Chantel & Underbrush.
