Liz Wolfe (New York, NY) is a lifelong musician and dedicated educator with years of experience. She is deeply involved in the New York City bluegrass scene, organizing and leading jams, and helping beginners gain confidence. Her website lists bluegrass jams all over the New York area. As a vocalist, she has sung and performed around the city and received training from Broadway coach Rona Leslie. Liz plays guitar and ukulele, and created a popular ukulele course and songbook. With a strong community presence and a passion for expanding the joy of bluegrass, she’s eager to inspire students to learn to jam.

“Liz helped me to figure out the best keys for my songs and it’s so much easier to sing.”

“I never thought I was a very good singer but playing with Liz gave me confidence to try new songs.”

“I got much better at leading songs with Liz’s help. She made sure everyone in the circle felt comfortable and included.”

“Liz’s passion about bluegrass is evident.  She puts a lot of energy into bringing people together.”

“Liz was amazing. Got me to lead on the very last jam with my voice, which I didn’t even know was possible.”

“I feel so much more confident playing with others after attending Liz’s jam.”

“I had never been to a jam before. I learned a lot from participating and Liz  was very encouraging.”
“Liz is responsible for introducing me to bluegrass, to the company of so many new and delightful people, to many new songs and a rare sense of belonging.”
“Liz did the best job leading the jam groups and encouraging people who were shy. She was especially helpful regarding how to lead a jam song. She kept things moving between songs too, so everyone had a chance to play and sing.”
“Liz did a great job coordinating teaching and encouraging.”
