Michael Watry & Janeen Bogue

Michael Watry‘s (Colorado Springs, CO) childhood musical education included piano, choir, music theory and a failed attempt to learn guitar. He re-engaged with music after his first guitar class with Charlie Hall who reminded him how fun it is to make music! Since then Michael has also learned mandolin and frailing banjo. He loves to sing leads and harmony and has become an experienced jam leader. He is now “jambassador” for the Black Rose Acoustic Society in Colorado Springs and a founding member of the Colorado band Startin’ Over.

Janeen Bogue (Lafayette, CO) has been a fixture at bluegrass jams along the Colorado front range since the early 2010’s when she picked up a bass and jumped feet first into the local bluegrass community. Since then, she has been in several bluegrass, Colorado country and folk bands, including Spurs of the Moment and Goatz. Having the heart of a teacher, Janeen wants to share, through the Wernick Method, her love for these wonderful songs and the community they build. When Janeen is not thumping on the doghouse, she might be sliding on the dobro or picking a guitar.
