Friday: To get a jump start on the camp, this “intro to jamming” will get new players acquainted with jam etiquette, chord changing and other necessary basics for navigating jams. The camp starts the next morning with the same material, but this head start will probably be worth the extra time for people wanting to get an early footing with what’s to come.
Saturday and Sunday: Camp for all levels, beginner through advanced.

Tuition covers Saturday and Sunday. Attend the Friday “intro to jamming” for an additional $50. Attend only the “intro to jamming” for $75. $15 off if you register by Sep 9. $75 deposit holds your spot; 50% refundable for cancellations more than one month in advance.

As soon as you register you’ll receive our Student Prep Guide including links to online playlists of Bluegrass Jam Favorites. A digital copy of our JAM Songbook will be emailed shortly thereafter, and you’ll also get a hard copy of the book at your class if you don’t already have one.

Convenient location from I-25, Denver, and D.I.A.: The camp venue is 5 miles west of I-25 (exit 240) and seven minutes from downtown Longmont. From Denver Intl. Airport to the camp venue takes 36 minutes.

Pete Wernick (Niwot, CO) has taught more new bluegrass jammers than anyone! A pioneer in bluegrass music instruction, his jam camps, banjo camps, instruction videos and books, DrBanjo.com website, and worldwide touring with the Bluegrass Hall of Fame band Hot Rize have inspired players for decades, and led to the creation of the Wernick Method in 2010. See Pete’s full bio.
“I truly am happy that I have been able to attend your camps and never expected to be in this position to enjoy playing so much.”
“Pete and Joan gave us explanations and pointers that made us feel more confident in jamming. With patience and encouragement they helped each one of us identify specific areas of instrumentation and singing where we could improve. We learned how to sing harmonies and choose the best key for our voice, as well as tricks for improvising solos on our instruments. Pete shows endless enthusiasm for Bluegrass music and shared fascinating stories of his many years of involvement in its history.”
