Russ Holder (Huntsville, AL) has played guitar and resonator guitar (“dobro”) since junior high school and taught those instruments since 2000. His parents introduced him and his brothers to music early on and once they learned to play in their teens, they formed a bluegrass group and began performing around the Southeast U.S. He has performed across the U.S. from North Carolina to Hawaii. Russ currently plays with Grasstronauts bluegrass band and the WoodPickers acoustic Americana band, teaches at the Huntsville Strings Shop, attends local and regional jams, and enjoys working with music students of all ages.
