Holiday Bluegrass Jam Class

Tuition: $100

  • Bring your own lunch. Refreshments and eggnog provided. Bring holiday treats to share if you’d like.
  • A “Holiday Jam Songbook” will be provided, and standard bluegrass jam songs will be ringing through air as well!
  • Holiday attire encouraged!

Scott Hopkins

Delanson, NY

Scott Hopkins grew up hearing bluegrass recordings in his home. At 15 he took up banjo and also joined the school band on tuba, fully immersing himself in the study of music. Scott received music education degrees from Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and the University of Connecticut, winning the Crane Concerto Competition on tuba.

Scott is a school band teacher and has continued to play banjo in bands in New York and Vermont. He currently performs with the Upstate Bluegrass Band and has released an acclaimed banjo recording, using his skills as composer, arranger, producer and engineer.

    I attended Wernick Jam Classes at Grey Fox, CT (Austin Scelzo) and MA (Jordan Richmond) since picking up the mandolin this summer. Looking forward to meeting some jammers who live in my area for future get-togethers.
