Scholarship: A scholarship is available that covers full tuition. Individuals under 25 and service veterans are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants should provide their age, instrument(s) played, experience and goals in bluegrass, and a short statement of their financial need. Camping and evening jamming available Monday and Tuesday nights at Fox Flat Liner Parking, 200 County Route 22, Oak Hill NY, 12460. Less than a quarter of mile from the festival gate. $25 for 1 night, $40 for 2 nights. Easy lineup Wednesday morning for the festival! No reservations; opens Monday July 15 at 9am.

Scott Hopkins

Delanson, NY

Scott Hopkins grew up hearing bluegrass recordings in his home. At 15 he took up banjo and also joined the school band on tuba, fully immersing himself in the study of music. Scott received music education degrees from Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and the University of Connecticut, winning the Crane Concerto Competition on tuba.

Scott is a school band teacher and has continued to play banjo in bands in New York and Vermont. He currently performs with the Upstate Bluegrass Band and has released an acclaimed banjo recording, using his skills as composer, arranger, producer and engineer.
