Len Lawhon has been playing bluegrass and old-time music for over 30 years. He leads and plays mandolin for the old-time string band, Mulberry Jam and leads bluegrass and old-time music jams and performances around the Memphis area. He has sponsored many young musician talent revues and produces several festivals including the Ranger Bluegrass Festival.

Len and his wife Susan’s latest project is Music Meadow Arts at Aisling Farms, a music, arts and gardening camp on their farm in Olive Branch, MS whose mission is “to provide a beautiful rural retreat for musicians and artists to gather, learn and perform”.

Len’s students say:

“Len is the best music mentor I could have ever hoped for. I had no idea what I was doing and am naturally a bit shy, but from the beginning, Len saw my potential and immediately welcomed me into the bluegrass community and encouraged me.”
“Len has always made me feel welcome in any jam. And when the music is unfamiliar or difficult he encouraged me to stay and grow, knowing just what to do to take me to the next level.”
“Len is a good teacher and is a fun instructor!”
“I was really intimidated playing with others but Len really helped me so much!”
