Originally from Scotland, Chris Tamburrini (Jamaica, NY) started on electric guitar in 1993, and became a recording, writing and touring artist in a number of groups. He discovered bluegrass in 2008 and transitioned to acoustic guitar flatpicking and clawhammer banjo. Since moving to New York in 2011 he has played bluegrass with friends and colleagues. An experienced teacher, Chris thrives on taking people with little to no experience and helping them to achieve quick results and discover the joy of playing with other people. Now a multi-instrumentalist, he also plays 3 finger style banjo, mandolin, and bass.
“Chris really kept our kids engaged, they really enjoyed their lessons.”
