Ernie Martinez, 40-year Swallow Hill faculty member, plays just about every stringed instrument, and more. In high school he started his first bluegrass band, the Off the Wall Gang, and picked up the fiddle, piano, bass, banjo, mandolin and pedal steel guitar within a few years, becoming the go-to utility performer in Colorado, both live and in the studio. Ernie has worked on over 150 records as a producer, songwriter, and arranger, and has released three albums of his original work. As a teacher, Ernie inspires people of all ages, beginners to advanced, learning bluegrass and country.
