Janeen Bogue

Janeen Bogue (Lafayette, CO) has been a fixture at bluegrass jams along the Colorado front range since the early 2010’s when she picked up a bass and jumped feet first into the local bluegrass community. Since then, she has been in several bluegrass, Colorado country and folk bands, including Spurs of the Moment and Goatz. Having the heart of a teacher, Janeen wants to share, through the Wernick Method, her love for these wonderful songs and the community they build. When Janeen is not thumping on the doghouse, she might be sliding on the dobro or picking a guitar.

“Jamming in a group can be scary at first, but with the right instruction and understanding of the unspoken ‘rules’ it’s a lot less intimidating. Janeen was one of the first musicians I ever jammed with. She is a great teacher and an amazing bass player! She kindly showed me the ins and out of jam etiquette and how to be a better musician.”

“Janeen is an excellent musician. At a Wernick class she was very insightful with ideas and suggestions. And she was kind and helpful with the students, never critical or pushy.”
